Southern Style

There are some wonderful homes in the South. You would love this home- with it’s front porch, towering oaks and and beautifully decorated interior. Let’s start with the kitchen. It is one of the prettiest ones I’ve ever seen. The double chandeliers were amazing.

I love these rooster prints over the stove! If anyone knows where to find these let me know- I’ve been looking for something to hang over my stove and these would be perfect.

Okay- get ready to see the most beautiful bathroom– brace yourself–

The master bedroom was done in green and neutrals. Notice the view out of the bedroom window..

The home had the original wavy glass in the windows.

The backyard was beautiful. It had three small back porches and a water fountain.

Piedmont Gardeners Tour

Every year I visit the Piedmont Gardeners Tour.  This year there are five gardens to tour and it was the best ever!  All the photos in this post were taken at one home. The couple who own the home have truly created a wonderful outdoor area.  This first picture shows the side entrance to their home. An antique iron shelf holds a variety of plants.

A wonderful door with an antique bell.

This little picket fence, at the other side of the house, holds a variety of plantings and has a beautiful statue at the entrance.

What once was a tennis court has been turned into a large lawn with perennials on each side.

As you leave this area, you find an outdoor sitting room!

This area opens into a large garden with raised beds for flowers and vegetables and a wonderful water feature.

A beautiful statue in front of curved steps.

This garden is one of my all time favorites! I hope you enjoyed it.

Gardens from the Home Tour

I went on a home tour yesterday in a nearby historic district and saw some wonderful homes. I wanted to show you a few of the gardens I saw and show you a cool outdoor room that had a kitchen and fireplace.

I just love a picket fence!

Don’t you love the view of this garden out toward the street?

I love this idea of a window frame with colorful glass.

I love this beautiful wreath of leaves!

A beautiful sitting area with a fish pond and bench.

Isn’t this a great water feature?

I love these little pumpkins!

This was a covered outdoor room with kitchen and fireplace.

This is a great idea: mondo grass under the bird feeder so you don’t see all the debris the birds drop!

This home looked like we were stepping back in time. I love the lake in the backyard! Sorry I couldn’t get inside shots of the homes, there were no cameras allowed inside on this tour.

If you have enjoyed this tour I also have a few more that you might want to check out from my previous posts.     tour 1. tour 2. tour 3. tour 4.

Be sure and visit Roz at La Bella Vista for beautiful and inspiring ideas!
