A Trip to Low Country
Low Country is the coastal region of South Carolina that is know for its natural beauty and unique cultural heritage. It’s no wonder that it holds such a great appeal for bestselling authors such as Dorthea Benton Frank and Anne Rivers Siddons. There are wonderful historic communities, marsh lands, islands and huge oak trees dripping with moss. I thought I would share some photos of a recent trip there.
A Trip to Saint George Island and Apalachicola, FL.
This week our family loaded up and drove down to the Gulf Coast.
We rented a house on the bay side
of Saint George Island. The beaches are very pretty here and the port city of Apalachicola
is very rustic. Almost like stepping back in time and visiting a old fishing village.
We saw a lot of shrimp boats. The little local restaurants have the freshest seafood imaginable!
Most of the buildings are very old and rustic but the food was just incredible.
I love the looks of this boat, it was almost spooky looking!
This is one of the views from the bay side home, the sunsets were so beautiful each evening.
Historic Asheville, NC. Inn
Asheville, North Carolina is a very beautiful place to visit. It is home to the Biltmore Estate, beautiful mountain scenery and many diverse restaurants. My husband and I stayed at a beautiful historic inn on our recent trip. The White Gate Inn was built in 1889 and has the most remarkable gardens. I thought I would share some of the photos I took.
This is the main garden that features a statue, waterfalls, a tiny bridge and koi ponds.
